Nkomazi Private Game Reserve

We will arrive at Nkomazi Private Game Reserve in time to settle into our rooms and then kick off our adventure with an afternoon game drive and a scenic sundowner. Each day offers two game drives, one at sunrise and another in the late afternoon, providing ideal opportunities to capture wildlife in the best light. Nkomazi’s diverse landscapes—ranging from savannahs to riverbanks—are home to elephants, lions, cheetahs, giraffes, and much more.

In the afternoons, you can participate in our ‘Lunch & Learn’ sessions, where we cover key photography techniques and offer personalized tips to enhance your skills. Alternatively, you can take time to unwind in style at the lodge, enjoying a refreshing dip in the plunge pools or relaxing on your private deck.

Weather permitting, we will host one or two stargazing sessions. With minimal light pollution, the sky here is perfect for night-sky photography, where you can try capturing constellations and the Milky Way under our guidance.

Nkomazi Private Game Lodge- 4 nights

Nkomazi Private Game Reserve features luxurious tented accommodations blending safari authenticity with modern comfort. The tents each have private sun decks featuring plunge pools, and both indoor and outdoor showers. Air conditioning, plush robes, and en-suite bathrooms ensure a comfortable stay.

The spacious tents also have a lounge area, where you can relax between game drives.

The lodge is fenced, so you can freely walk around from your tent to the open-plan lounge, with dining spaces, and a viewing deck overlooking the river and surrounding wilderness.

Hluhluwe-iMfolozi National Park

Located in KwaZulu-Natal, Hluhluwe-iMfolozi National Park is South Africa’s oldest game reserve and renowned for its pioneering conservation efforts, particularly in saving the white rhino from extinction. Spanning rolling hills, riverine forests, and open savannahs, the park is home to the Big Five—lion, leopard, elephant, rhino, and buffalo—along with giraffes, zebras, and diverse birdlife. Its mix of landscapes provides excellent wildlife photography opportunities!

Rhino Ridge Safari Lodge, Hluhluwe iMfolozi National Park – 4 Nights

After our 4 nights at Nkomazi, we will have a long transfer by road to our next accommodation. Set on a ridge overlooking the nature reserve, Rhino Ridge Safari Lodge offers unparalleled views and access to the heart of rhino conservation efforts. It blends modern architecture with local Zulu culture, providing an authentic and serene experience.

Rhino Ridge’s game drives are known for sightings of rhinos, as well as buffalo, giraffe, and big cats.

As at Nkomazi, we will have two safari activities per day, with optional ‘Lunch & Learn’ sessions during the afternoons.
